Tucked into Mulberry Gardens near the centre of Dublin, Ernie's offers diners delightful food in a lovely setting. It manages to be both homely and elegantand classical all at once, and relaxed too. The garden is lovely, and the collection of Irish art is fantastic. Everyone comes here, from locals and business types, to tourists, all ages. The menu has French origins, but is heavily influenced by traditional Irish cooking of a very high order. Try the Clonakilty black pudding croquette with roasted red pepper chutney, followed by grilled John Dory with parmesan tuile and red pepper sauce or rack of Wicklow lamb with ratatouille. All is complemented by the broad, ambitious wine list.
