Past the lantern-lit courtyard, down the shadowed stairs is Levant, an exotic Middle Eastern eaterie that is first choice for groups of friends aiming to taste everything on the menu. While the decor is suitably moody, with dim lighting and Aladdin ornaments, the atmosphere is lively -especially when the curvy bellydancer takes to the floor. Smart singles and clued-up couples always seem to be having a terrific time here. What's cooking? A Middle Eastern feast, with a vast menu of mezze that are beautifully prepared and presented. Try everything: hoummous, falafel,arayes, fattoush, and specialities like fried aubergine with pomegranate dressing, then try everything else, like the main course of mixed grill, and the spiced baby chicken, or even a whole roast lamb, and then, if you can, save room for the spectacular desserts, both traditional honey, nut and pastry confections and more modern inventions. Then stay on having a great time til the early hours. Incidentally the choice for vegetarians is excellent.

Finding somewhere for a corporate or private party can be problematic. There are places we know of, where the private dining facilities are gloomy or cold, a soulless annexe or dingy basement area. Not so at Levant. If you want somewhere spectacular but not grand or intimidating, Levant is the answer to your prayers. Not only is Lebanese hospitality legendary, but the fabulous decor will put you and your guests in a party mood right from the start - Soft squishy cushions and sofas, coloured glass lanterns, drapery and beaded curtains. To really give your party a touch of the Kasbah, Levant can also lay on Belly Dancers or Henna Tattooists as well as the more usual DJ or band. Belly dancers every night of the week to really get the party going. Groups of 6 or more dine on set menus.

A credit card is required to secure a reservation for groups of 6 persons or more, if there is availability - this is simply to secure your booking, absolutely no money will be charged to the card except in the case of late cancellations. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of the reservation) and no-shows will incur a charge of £15 per person
Please note that on Mon - Wed & Sun evenings tables may be required back by the restaurant after 2 hrs for subsequent bookings. On Thurs – Sat evening bookings there is a 2-hr turnaround on all bookings.
For all groups of 6 or more there are 2 sittings every night. The first is 6pm - 7.30pm for 2.5 hrs. The next is from 9pm onwards.
Also, this restaurant does not have a designated non-smoking section, so they cannot guarantee a non-smoking table reservation, though they will do their best for you if you mention this upon arrival.
Levant have a £2 cover charge per person for fresh bread, pickles, olives and vegetables.
