Uberhip hotel part owned by Bono and The Edge from U2 who purchased it in 1992. The Clarence has played a major part in making Dublin one of the trendiest places to vist not least because of it's combination of restrained style and unparalleled luxury. The furnishings are simple and Shakeresque, but where the decor may be 'minimal' the service and luxury are anything but. Every item of furniture has been customed designed and crafted by Irish artisans - from wrought iron bedside lamps to the restored oak panelling and arts and craft style stained glass windows. if you are feeling flush or have somthing to celebrate book yourself into the sumptuous penthouse which includes a baby grand piano and an outdoor hot tub on the roof terrace with views of the river Liffey. The confusingly named Tea Rooms is situated in the hotels original dining room which has be completely refurbished and is light and airy. Chef Antony Ely is commited to producing a new style of cooking using only the best and freshest Irish produce making this one of THE best places to eat in Dublin.
