In a charming little village just on the outskirts of Cambridge, the Pink Geranium is the kind of restaurant you always hope you will stumble across but rarely do - all this and it's the highest awarded restaurant for five counties to boot, definitely delicious and affordable fine dining. Olde worldly charm with lots of oak beams but thankfully there's nothing old fashioned about the cooking which is sophisticated and modern. Romantic ambience with a lovely garden for pre-dinner drinks in the summer. What's cooking: Modern French cuisine from Chef Gordon Campbell, formerly at L'Escargot. Confit lamb shoulder and sweetbread terrine with quails eggs, mosaic of guinea fowl and duck foie gras, roast fillet of sea bass, tournedos of beef on wilted spinach, poached loin of new season lamb, Granny Smith and vanilla crème brulee.
