With serious food and a lively bar, the Great Eastern is a perfect place to gather for business or pleasure. The cocktails help everyone let off steam or get into the mood to party, while the light, beautifully-prepared Eastern delicacies are just right for sharing. What's cooking? A pan-Asian mix combining Japanese, Chinese and a touch of Thai and Malaysian. Starters like chilli garlic squid, baby pork ribs in black bean sauce or light-as-air avocado, courgette and sweet potato tempura. The larger house specialities are equally exciting such as the red mullet and shaosing wine papillote or beef, celeriac and wasabi plum teriyake. New world wines predominate and terrific canapes for standing gatherings can also be organised.

With a great looking venue and fantastic Pan-Asian food, the Great Eastern Dining Room has staked a worthy claim in fashionable Shoreditch. This lively space is decked out in a modern, minimalist style with dramatic lighting and lots of comfortable funiture. Whats cooking? For large tables (8-12) in the restaurant there is an Oriental banquet style sharing menu which samples everything form dim sum and tempura through to Asian salads and curries. Equally well catered for are large functions in The Lounge Bar where there are two canape menus to choose from - a perfect accompaniment for any drinks gathering.
