The award-winning Simply Heathcotes, formerly La Rascasse, has the most delightful setting, a converted grain warehouse that stretches right across the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, so diners are treated to idyllic water views in the heart of the city. The stylish decor has clean, modern lines. The very freshest, finest ingredients are sourced, many of them local. The menu devised by owner Paul Heathcote - with Modern British influences, producing delicious dishes like Roast breast of Goosnargh duckling with summer vegetables, red wine sauce and Fillet of Torbay sole, crushed potatoes, asparagus and lemon pickle. There's also a lunch and pre-theatre daily menus. Large eclectic wine list. Altogether, a terrific dining experience.
