The pretty bold blue exterior of this award-winning eaterie makes you think of traditional Greek establishments. Happily, so does the décor (a sophisticated mix of original Victorian features and rustic lighting) and, more so, the fabulous Greek food. Together all three attract truly mixed crowds, from Hoxtonians to the odd celebrity and refined diners. With a choice of two types of restaurants, first, the more formal Real Greek Restaurant offers a long list of quality Greek home-style cooking accompanied with an extensive list of imported Greek wines. We highly recommend their Kirios Piata (main dishes) which can range from duck stuffed with cretan style ‘wedding pilaf’, Monkfish tail wrapped with Halkidiki vine leaves or a must are their traditional Ismir style meat dumplings. The second restaurant, the subtly-lit ‘Mezedopolio’, next door serves a delicious informal mix of authentic Mezedes ideal for a relaxed meal. The bar takes centre stage in this trendy, buzzy environment, and again on offer is a wide variety of Greek wine, beer and spirits. Wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The main Real Greek restaurant can seat up to 80 people and can be hired for full three-course lunch and dinner parties to suit all budgets, from small family celebrations and to large corporate drinks receptions of up to a 180 guests for the entire venue. A full a la carte menu can only be ordered on the day for a maximum group of ten and with two private dining rooms within the restaurant seating up to 10 and 24 respectively. For a more informal option book the Mezedopolio, this restaurant with in house bar can seat up to 100 people and is ideal for any relaxed canapé drinks reception or buffet party. With facilities to bring your own entertainment if you fancy it but there ain't no plate smashin' here! Al fresco dining.
