Savarona is something almost unique in London, a restaurant devoted to the cuisine of the Ottomans, but in a modern, funky dining room that combines the best of both. Set in the heart of modern London's nightlife, Savarona is kitted out in gorgeous timber floors, delicate wood screens, creamy upholstery, and authentic art works. The chef trained under Ataturk's own personal chef and is constantly evolving the menu. Starters include classic imam bayildi, or stuffed roast aubergine, main courses include grilled lamb, chicken and kofte on string potatoes with yoghurt sauce and spiced butter. The Ten Sultans cocktail list is becoming deservedly famous.

It really takes a group, either of friends or colleagues, to sample and share all the various flavours and textures of this very special cuisine, there are so many dishes to choose from. Savarona specialises in the cooking of the Ottoman, which means Turkey and more at the height of its importance and richness. Various private areas on are offer, from the upstairs dining room seating up to 50, to the mezzanine for more intimate groups of up to 15, to the private area, seating up to 10. The modern, authentic decor is charming throughout. Dishes include hot and cold mezze, traditional hunkar begendi or stewed lamb served on smoke cream with aubergine sauce. The wines offer the chance to sample great bottles from Turkey and the rest of the world.
