Beneath Rhythm’s blue canopy lies a West End-style oasis; an unexpectedly smart and polished venue for West Norwood. It is split distinctly in two, with a bar/lounge area at the entrance, and a formal dining area in the mezzanine which has its own separate side entrance. The cream cotton covered chairs here contrast pleasingly with the chic black seating in the bar below. The Modern European (with the odd distinct Caribbean note) is playfully divided into rehearsals (starters), main melodies and sweet rhythms (desserts). Popular melodies include a luscious lobster vanzant and valentine chicken – sesame chicken stuffed with Thai green vegetables and parma ham in a somed noodle broth. Food that’s as fun to order as it is to eat.

Rhythms welcomes parties of up to 80 seated and 200 standing for an exclusive hire, although our guests would be physically split between the lower floor and the mezzanine. Alternatively you either of the areas separately; each has space for 40 guests seated. A further 16 people can sit outside, shielded from the road by potted trees. The largest group that can be seated around a single table is 30. Up to 40 can dine a la carte, or reduced a la carte. Double that can eat from the set menu. Bigger groups are best ordering canapés or a buffet. Jazz music can usually be heard in the background, but a DJ can play if you prefer. Air-conditioned. Child-friendly.
