About

Historically a haven for writers, musicians and authors that first opened in 1865, the Grill Room today remains one of the most decadent English dining experiences in London. The glamorous jewel of Café Royal, its gilt-edged mirrors, beautiful hand-painted ceilings and blood red drapes create a scene of unique drama and opulence. In the 1930’s fashion and portrait photographer Cecil Beaton declared The Grill Room "the loveliest room in London.” We’d argue it still is.

The Grill Room can host product launches, anniversaries, corporate dinners, birthday parties and other events for up to 45 guests (seated) or 130 guests for a cocktail party. The following menus are served: set, canapé, buffet and drinks. House wine starts at £5 glass, and £14 a bottle, while a spirit and mixer costs £6. Bottled water is £4.50. The grand in-house bar does very nicely indeed as a setting for pre or post prandial drinks. Facilities include a PA and a sound system, although jazz is often performed live. Impeccable service. Air-conditioned.

A credit card is required to reserve a table for 4 people and above, if there is availability - this is simply to secure your booking, absolutely no money will be charged to the card except in the case of late cancellations or a no show.
Late cancellations:
Groups of under 6: A fee of £10 per person will be charged for a cancellation within 24 hours
Groups of 6 – 10: A fee of £10 per person will be charged for a cancellation within 3 days
Groups of 10 or more: A fee of £10 per person will be charged for a cancellation within 7 days

Please be aware this restaurant does not take bookings on Wed nights as it is closed for their weekly Dinner Club evenings
