Now a fixture on the Soho restaurant scene, Thai Pavilion is the place where East meets West End and the result is one great experience.
The restaurant is set in a narrow townhouse with dining rooms on four floors decorated pleasantly with Thai artefacts and tinkling waterfalls. If you fancy it, get your shoes off for the traditional dining room on the second floor with low tables and cushions -- it encourages lingering conversation.
The menu encompasses both traditional Thai favourites, like pad thai and a variety of curries, as well as a stream of new inventions, like prawns and crab baked with noodles. The wine list is very well chosen, though we admit to a fondness for Thai beer. Service is subtle and discreet.

It's as if the party gods had gotten together and created a restaurant perfectly sited (West End) and perfectly suited to group dining.
The Thai Pavilion has four dining areas, including two dedicated party rooms for celebrations, launches, and mad group shindigs. The main restaurant on the ground floor holds the bar, while downstairs features a waterfall and the first floor Pimarn Room both feature Western seating and waterfalls. The really fun spot is the second floor Sawasdee Room where your party can go native with tradition Thai seating and ambience.
Thai food was made to share, from the gorgeous seafood soup to curries to newer dishes like fried rainbow trout with tamarind sauce. Wines and beers are well-chosen to match the fresh, light flavours.
