Satu is a real find - a smart, even rather glamourous, restaurant serving terrific South Eastern Asian cooking for not nearly as much money as you might expect. In fact, for some people Satu is their favourite just-don't-feel-like-cooking-tonight restaurant. Add in some mates and suddenly you have a really good night out. Start in the modern bar area where some stonking concoctions are created. In the lower-ground, luxurious dining room you can tuck into dishes like satays, spring rolls or Vietnamese honey ribs coated in ginger infused caramel. An excellent pad thai, stir-fries like seafood & asparagus in black bean sauce, and curries, including aubergine & sweet potato yellow curry. Finish with chocolate & kumquat wontons served with ice cream. The ambience is sophisticated and fun and very, very cool, and it doesn't get much better than that.

Satu already has the reputation among its devotees as one of the very best bar-restaurant spaces in the City, so it's a short leap of imagination to 'Let's have our party-launch-celebration there!' Go with that. You can hire the smart, modern lounge area seating up to 30 for more intimate gatherings, or the gorgeous downstairs dining room that seats up to 180 for highly-memorable banquets or big-splash bashes. The Thai-Malay-fusion menu lends itself equally well to tables of sharers, lovely set menus, or truly mouthwatering canapes and buffets. Satu has some very cool bartenders with firey special effects, or you can just satisfy your guests' urges for wonderful food and lovely surroundings. The menu includes familiar dishes like satays and Singapore noodles and chicken with cashew nuts, as well as a few more exotic offerings such as seafood noodle soup, and salmon red curry. Good wines, great service.
