The first Coconut Lagoon Restaurant opened in Kenilworth in November 1998 and within 18 months it was amongst the Good Curry Guide's Top 100 restaurants in the UK. By 2003 Coconut Lagoon restaurants had risen theaward ranks to be one of the Top Five Indian restaurants in the country. The latest addition to the vibrant group recently opened in Birmingham's Bennetts Hill, bringing with it the varied cuisines of Kerala, Goa, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh under one roof. Vegetarian delicacies includemasalla thosai, a rice and split pea pancake filled with a potato, cabbage, peas and carrot. Meat-eaters meanwhile might like shakoothi, Goan style chicken roasted with mild chilli, tamarind, mustard seeds and fenugreek in a thick sauce, served with mango rice and aviyal. But before you tuck in, we recommend a Malabar Punch cocktail of port and fresh pomegranate with a hintof brandy and orange.

Coconut Lagoon provides a colourful contemporary setting for corporateentertaining and parties of up to 200. The vital ingredients for a memorable time are here - a full cocktail menu, dancefloor, live music (on request) and flavoursome South Indian food. The nibbles even have their own menu which includes a speciality bread topped with pistachios, cashews, almondflakes, glacé cherries and coriander leaf. Children can choose from their own menu sat in a high-chair. The Cochin Suite provides private dining for 80 seated, 100 standing. A range of business facilities are available on request.
