Cubana is a discovery place. Definitely not just another overpriced chain-run theme bar, Cubana is a genuine Cuban-Latino bar-restaurant with some of London's best fresh, tropical fruit cocktails - and they also offer surprisingly tasty food based on recipes from pre-revolutionary cookbooks prepared from fresh, free-range ingredients at very reasonable prices. Cubana's signature dish is Pollo Criollo - free-range chicken sauted in fresh orange, garlic, onions and sherry, served with fried plantain and black bean rice for just £8.95. Prime Scotch char-grilled sirloin steak marinated Cuba-style, with the trimmings, comes in at £10.95 and there is a great selection of tapas, including spicy crab cakes with home-made mango/chilli salsa and lush desserts like home-made coconut flan with a scoop of cool coconut ice cream. Veggie options too.

Cubana's juicy tropical fruit cocktails are made from fresh fruits and juices blended with top rums and tequilas - their Mojitos and fresh Mango & Strawberry Margaritas are to die for. Excellent £5.95 two-course/£7.95 three-course lunches too.

Cubans like to party. And Toptablers like to party at Cubana. Here's why: at Happy Hour you can share two jugs of fresh, juicy tropical cocktails for under a tenner and two tapas for just £5.95. You can have parties of as few as 15 in the lower bar, up to 60 if you take half the restaurant and just over 120 if you book the whole place with infinite variations including drinks-only events, or sumptuous buffets from as little as £7.50 and up to £15 per head with live Salsa music. Cubana puts on fun kids parties too.
