Step into the Montague Hotel in Bloomsbury and you'll find yourself stepping back into the gracious and elegant Edwardian era, and The Chef's Table is a delightful expression of the best of both that era and this. The intimate dining room is made cosy and traditional by the mahogany panelling, figured paper, heavy drapes, and antique-style furniture. The menu, however, ispleasing in a modern Euro/British way. Choose starter of ravioli of squab with wild mushroom and madeira sauce, and main course of fillet of beef with mustard soft crust, wild mushroom and red wine ice cream, and one of the modern nursery puds. In salubrious weather, you'll want a table in the sunny conservatory, while in winter you'll be happy dining in the candlelitinterior.

With all the resources of the elegant Montague Hotel at your disposal, you will find a meal, meeting, or celebration at The Chef's Table surpasses your expectations. The traditional decor and pride of service is most pleasing. There are two lovely conservatories, one seating up to 16, the other up to 25. The grand Great Russell Room seats up to 90 or accommodates up to 150 standing - very right for a big holiday bash, wedding reception, or conference. The smaller rooms, ranging from the Bloomsbury, seating 20, through to the Woburn (16), Boardroom (12) and Bedford (10), each offer up-to-the minute meeting facilities, though all are decorated with traditional elegance. From your guests' arrival in the garden square, through the traditional lobby, and into the charming restaurant, all is welcoming and comfortable. The menu features globally influenced modern British cuisine. Try starter of seared scallops with fresh peas, smoked bacon and light garlic cream, followed by main course of crispy duck breast with vanilla and lime risotto with spiced pears. Simple grills are also available as are buffet and canape menus.
