About

The White House first hit the style press headlines in early 2001, laying the foundations for its rock-hard reputation as a cool combination of bar, restaurant and night club in the middle of Clapham. Sumptuous, sophisticated surroundings make you think you've just stepped onto a GQ photo shoot, where the star attraction is Paul Hamilton's Modern British menu. Begin your food flight of fancy with, say, citrus cured salmon with a fine bean and trufflepotato salad. Take it to the top with rump of lamb made even more delicious with forkfulls of fondant potato, buttered spinach and mushroom and tarragon jus. Then end sweetly with a selection of summer sorbets. Uniquely, as an alternative to the full a carte menu, there's a less formal lounge menu served in the first floor members' lounge. The big-time DJs (Wednesday to Sunday) and cocktails, the handiwork of the beautiful bar team, deserve honorary mentions too. Overall excellence? We think so.Tables of 2 to 8 can be reserved from Mondays - Fridays between 5.30pm and 7.00pm on the new Roof Terrace.

As on the ball as their clientele, the White House offers a variety of group event options. Starting off with the largest capacity option, exclusive hire of the relaxed restaurant would suit groups of up to 70. Otherwise, the biggest group booking with other diners enjoying their evening around you is 14. On to the private dining rooms: The White House's beautiful Banqueting Room is suitable for up to 26 private diners, while the retro Rockstar Room fits just eight for a special meal with close friends and family, or even a business lunch or dinner (a TV/video, screen and PAsystem are there if you need them). The atmospheric members' lounge with itsgorgeous black glass bar, meanwhile, has a 60 person capacity. Most fun of all, you get to work with the ex-Mosimmans head chef to design your ideal menu. So photogenic is this SW venue that it is frequently hired as a film and TV location, and for engagement parties, stag and hen nights, press launches...Bookings for groups of 10 up to 40 people can be made for the Roof Terrace area as long as the booking starts before 2pm.

Please note this restaurant does not take bookings from toptable.co.uk for Saturday evenings
