Not far off a minute's walk from Piccadilly Circus you'll find Melati; three distinctive floors of Indonesian, Malaysian and Singaporean dining. The ground floor is aubergine-coloured, the first is a pale orange, and the top room is a green hue. All exude an exotic charm, mainly through the traditional decoration of leaf paintings, statuettes and bird pictures. This is a fun, unpretentious, child-friendly kinda place. On to the food, and the long list of authentic dishes to tempt you - chicken, beef, vegetable, noodles, soup bowls to name a few. If you find yourself dithering, may we recommend the best-selling Singapore laksa, a big bowl of spicy, creamy coconut soup with rice and noodles and seafood or rending padang, a spiced beef curry. It must be good because South East Asians join business people, locals and tourists as Melati's typical customers. Some families have been coming here for generations, which means in certain circles the restaurant is an institution.

Up to 20 of you can eat at Melati's at a group booking. To enjoy the food in the privacy of your own air-conditioned room, you could hire either the Singaporean or Indonesian Room. Both seat 20 to 35 and take 20 to 45 standing. Chosing what to eat won't be problem as if nothing from the a lacarte, set, canapé or buffet menus suit then a special menu can be created to your specifications. Rest assured you and your guests will be served by friendly staff.

A credit card & deposit is required to secure a reservation for groups of 8 persons or more, if there is availability. Late cancellations (within 3 hours of the reservation) and no-shows will forfeit this deposit
