Relaxed, unpretentious, inviting, Anexo is a memorable Mediterranean-style DJ-bar and restaurant round the corner from Farringdon station, and next door to Turnmills nightclub. With its Gaudi-esque décor, Mediterranean-inspired a la carte menu, tasty tapas and impressive lunch specials, no wonder it's popular with the local office workers, couples and party people alike. Yes, the griddled fillet of beef on a corn tortilla with a spicy tomato, white wine and smoked chilli sauce topped with gratinéed Manchego cheese tastes just as good as it sounds. But whatever you choose, leave room for the baked pineapple with ginger and bananas served with coconut ice cream. Anexo is especially worth a visit in the summer when the doors open, spilling the crowd out onto the street for a BBQ and drinks in the sun.

If you fancy somewhere a bit different to have fun with your friends, then you'll like Turnmills, literally connected to Anexo bar and restaurant, and Gaudi restaurant too, in cool Clerkenwell. Walking down into this venue prepare to enter a sci-fi film set scene complete with tens, if not hundreds of shiny disco balls hanging from the ceiling. Turnmills' tardis-like interior is versatile enough to suit any group of up to a 1000, from leaving dos, sports screenings, cocktail parties to stag/hen nights and corporate events. With four bars and two new VIP bars and restaurants, four dance floors, four sounds systems and a 24-hour music and entertainment license, it's not hard to work out why. Take your pick.
