The ambience isbuzzing and smartly casual and, for real relaxation, the basement dining area has been transformed into a BT Openzone WiFi Hotspot, so customers can spend the afternoon working with their laptop's wirelessly, after enjoying a relaxing lunch washed down with some fine wines. The playground-coloured chairs and other splashes of colour suit the flavoursomecooking, mainly French with international influences. Try starter of dressed Scottish smoked salmon, main course of roasted young grouse with fondant potatoes and sauteed ceps or one of the daily risottos, and acheese course to set you up nicely for whatever comes next. The wine list is worth the price of admission and there are always some jolly types at the bar toasting a legal victory in very nice champagne. Walls adorned with works of a local artist are available for purchase should you take a fancy to one.

This is just the place to meet with clients or colleagues in planning the next legal move, or to celebrate after it all comes right. Tooks' bright colours tend to put people in the party mood, so that's half the battle won. For more serious events, you might consider the left partitioned area of the ground floor, seating up to 20, and for pure fun, hire the downstairs loungewith its footie table and sofas. Tooks is also popular for small promotional events, and the excellent choice of wines and various menus will suit any gathering. Try starter of rocket salad with quail eggs and bread rubbed with garlic and tomato pulp, main course of grilled seabass filletwith forked mashed herb potatoes, and pud of roasted caramelised fruits with lightly whipped cream.
