Lightship is the oldest surviving lightship in the world, built in 1877, with a long history of service and adventure (including being captured by Germans), now beautifully refurbished and given new life and docked hard by Tower Bridge as London's latest uniquely intriguing dining venue. The old wood of the hull has been restored and is offset in a very pleasing way by the sleek modernism of the decor, the gleaming silver and stemware. This is both luxurious and informal, and fine for romance. The modern British/Scandinavian menu is unique too. Try the tomato tart glazed with feta and olive and basil vinaigrette, or main of Danish meatballs with red cabbage and chilled potato salad, and pud of crème brulee with apple water ice and honey tuile biscuit. Blistering cocktails. Live jazz every Monday & Wednesday nights 7.30pm - 10.30pm

The whole boat can be hired for truly unique parties for up to 100 people. In the good weather your party can have a cocktail reception in the open air on the top deck, a disco in the bar and the food downstairs in the main restaurant (Lower Deck). The Main Deck can be hired on its own for up to 40 people seated and 50 standing. The largest party in the restaurant when there are other customers there is 20.

Please note: this restaurant does not have a designated non-smoking section, so they cannot guarantee a non-smoking table reservation, though they will make a note of any requests.
Unfortunately smaller group bookings cannot be guaranteed in the lower deck due to nautical reasons regarding weight distribution on the boat.
