The recently-refurbished Weng Wah House has been a hit with locals for some time now, with its gigantic menu of traditional Chinese dishes balanced by lightly Westernised offerings that use more adventurous ingredients like mussels and asparagus. The place is largish, and a good thing, too, considering what the queues would be like if it weren't. There is atremendously good value set menu at lunch and dinner, and the menu's 'signature dishes' change every month. Try the Yin-Yang Dover sole, cooked two ways, or the chicken fillets with asoaragus in spicy xo-sauce, or the veggie feast, if you're so inclined. There are karaoke nights in the upstairs dining room hosted by Vincent 'Elvis' Phung singing those timeless hits 'Jailhouse Wok' and 'Shake Rattle and Spring Roll'. The service is spiffy and the wine list very good.

This place is always packed - book well in advance to avoid disappointment. The karaoke party level can accomodate up to eighty diners and their set menus make this a great value night out. Perfect for birthdays, hen nights and celebrations. If you don't fancy karaoke you can dine in the restaurant downstairs and enjoy traditional Chinese dishes away from the mayhem.
