About

Chef Richard Corrigan has left reviewers gasping for superlatives after dining at his cosy, slightly eccentric Lindsay House restaurant. The decor is updated traditional, with creamy walls and swaggy drapes, and looks quite a lot like a Georgian house - because it is in fact a Georgian house. The two dining rooms are on the tiddly side, but are smart and comfortable. But these are trifling details next to the real point of the place: Richard Corrigan's cooking. The technique is fluent French, the influences are heartfelt Irish, and the combination of the two is superb. A recent menu included starters of gazpacho of English crayfish, and spring vegetablesalad with confit chicken and foie gras creme, main courses of wild salmon with salsify, brown shrimp and fennel emulsion, and pot au feu of beef, ceps and root veg, and puds of five variations of raspberries and banana souffle. All of which are mere words on the screen, whereas the actual execution of the dishes raises them to foodie elysium. And award-givers have beenfalling over themselves to gong Corrigan and his team. The wines and the service are superb.

When your guests ring the doorbell of this 1740's townhouse in deepest Soho, they will be admitted to one of the capital's truly great dining experiences. Richard Corrigan presides over this eccentric restaurant, withcozy dining rooms spread over three floors. The decor is modernised traditional, with creamy walls and bright blue accents in the first floor dining room, and warm salmon walls in the private dining room. The service is terrific, and the food, my dear, the food! Drawing on his Irish roots,Corrigan routinely creates dishes of great inventiveness and intensity of flavour, and awards have been heaped upon him.
