Smollensky's is one of the rare places that manage to offer something for nearly everyone. This particular western outpost is fitted into a listed Georgian building with lovely Art Deco murals, huge Art Deco chandelier, and charming ambience. There is informal seating on several levels, whilehalf-circle booths feel cozy and intimate. It's a great place for business lunches and after-work drinks, and for rather more romantic dinners a deux, al fresco in summer, or bubblier groups (there's a DJ in the bar Thursdays through Saturdays) then goes all family-friendly for the weekend brunch. The modern American menu includes long-time favourites like hot and spicyBBQ chicken wings for starters and mains like burgers, pan-roasted salmon, or an array of steaks for which they are justly celebrated. This is also a great stop before an evening at the Apollo.

For business or private parties up to six people, Smollensky's are happy to offer a full a la carte, while groups from six up to 60 guests can enjoy a special three course set menu. Smoked bacon and chicken liver pate, turkey escalope with onion gravy, peanut butter cheesecake make you hungry? Does us! For parties over 60, a slightly smaller menu is recommended. You might like to carry on celebrating downstairs in the bar, which is open till 2am, and where a DJ does his dynamic damage to the sound system from 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Entry is £5 after 11pm.

Please note that before 7.30pm this restaurant offers a reduced a la carte menu due to theatre diners.
