With a spectacular view over the (now-nonwobbly) Millennium Bridge, the Thames, Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe, Just the Bridge could probably eke out a living without serving top-notch modern global cuisine. But that would never wash with executive chef Peter Gladwin, of glamourama Just St James and Just Oriental. Lucky for us, PG is mad about high-quality cooking, so we can savour his oriental seabass on a bed of noodles with fresh plum and star anise glaze, or slow-roasted duck with wild cherries and balsamic vinegar followed by sticky toffee pudding with vanilla pod icecream. Enjoy the river terrace on sunny days with one of the best views you'll ever find of the capital in its riverside glory, or on normal days you can take refuge in the bright blue-highlighted bar or restaurant with fun carnivorous fish decorating the walls. The entire restaurant, with its tiling, blue columns, and funky fish-eat-fish wall motifs, is available for parties and launches, or you can have the slick bar and terrace, with its remarkable views, exclusively for parties and wedding receptions.
