If the word eclectic was a bar, that bar would be Beach Blanket Babylon. Heavy wooden doors reveal a wonderful (other) world of thick drapes, chandeliers, mosaics, red leather sofas, decorative fire places, fairy grottos, Tahitian maidens, mirrors and all manner of objects thrown together in an eccentric space graced by the glossy-haired Notting Hill crowd. To get to the top tables in a romantic Lord-of-Ringsesque pagoda, you cross a chained gangplank reached by a spiral staircase. There you're served a not inexpensive but tasty Med menu and a good wine list. Beach Blanket Babylon has arguably had its boho hey day, but it still has that wow! factor. Particularly the cocktails.

This funky, quirky venue lends itself to boho birthday parties, hen and stag parties, get togethers and business lunches with cool clients who do much of their work in and around Notting Hill. Maximum group size is 125 seated, 35 of which can sit together around one table. Your party isn't that big? Well, how about The Chapel, an atmospheric private area for 36 guests. Or The Gallery for 30. Or The Crypt, with room for 48 guests. Wide range of menus, from a la carte to buffet. Great bar for top pre and post meal cocktails.
